DAINIHON JOCHUGIKU Co., Ltd. (Kincho) is making further progress as a great partner in people's lives, underpinned by its strategy and vision: “Kincho will keep striving to transition from the general sanitation business to the health-creating business .”
As a manufacturer of insecticides, the company will steadily build a track record through its role in general environmental sanitation, while at the same time aiming to become a "health-creating company" by adopting broader cultural and spiritual perspectives.
Kincho’s business style is to develop its own systems in-house. Initially, the company outsourced development of necessary programs, but gradually switched to using in-house resources, and this took root in the company's culture.
However, pressure on internal resources grew as the functions required of the systems became more sophisticated. Moreover, they needed a system that was not feasible on the general-purpose computers that they had used for the past 30 years. As a result of seeking a low-code development platform to resolve the increase in development man-hours, the company eventually adopted intra-mart®, which not only significantly shortened the time required to build systems, but also plays a major role as a hub connecting all the systems.
Business Challenge
Increasing difficulty of building complex systems on general-purpose computers that have been in operation for about 30 years.
Starting to review resource shortages and rising man-hours.
Solution
Searched out a platform supporting the shift to agile in-house development.
- Selected intra-mart as a platform that offers a full range of features for both low-code development and for workflows
- Chose a fee structure that is per license, rather than per user because more than 300 people were expected to use the workflow platform
- Other key points included the availability of an on-premise format and the ease of using middleware for external linkage
Benefit
Significantly reduced build times compared to building systems on general-purpose computers.
- The customer was able to develop systems on intra-mart in less than one month after its introduction by using low-code development tools
- Only three members of the Development Section have built more than 200 systems in one year and five months
- The system development times have been reduced to up to 1/10th of its original length
